Still Fighting Back Rally: Commemorate the
1937 Republic Steel Memorial Day Massacre

ILHS is a co-sponsor of this event initiated by the United Steelworkers to again mark the savage police attack on a peaceful demonstration of steelworkers that left 10 dead and dozens more wounded. Speakers include ILHS President Larry Spivack, Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis, USW District 7 Director Jim Robinson, author & activist Stewart Acuff, and retired steelworker and labor activist Ed Sadlowski.

Impact Chicago, Thousand Waves and Iraq Veterans Against the War-Chicago present a FREE PUBLIC screening & discussion of the Invisible War on Saturday, February 9th from 4pm-6pm. Refreshments provided. Childcare available with RSVP.

Also, Thousand Waves Marital Arts & Self Defense, NFP has just announced that they would like to honor Sabrina Waller, one of IVAW Board of Directors, with their Peacemaker Award after the screening of The Invisible War on Saturday, February 9. It will be a short presentation of a plaque honoring her peacemaking work.

The Ed Show in “Bainport”

On Friday, October 19th, Ed Schultz of the Ed Show http://tv.msnbc.com/shows/the-ed-show is airing his television show live from Freeport, Illinois. The show will be aired across the street from the Sensata Plant which is owned by Bain Capitol. Bain Capitol is closing the plant and moving operations to China. The workers at the Freeport Sensata plant have been forced to train their Chinese counterparts. During the training, Bain Captial order the American Flag taken down so the Chinese would not be offended.
